How GPS for Life works

A student builds a record of what they have actually done — from evidence, not a résumé. The Twin notices patterns across it and turns facts into next steps with real numbers. The adults around the student each see only what they are meant to, and the student stays in control.

Every source is connected with consent and can be revoked. Never text messages, location or browsing history.

The Twin

One evidence record, dated and attributedIt notices patterns that converge across independent parts of a life — a class, a club, a teacher’s note, a reflection — and says so in plain words, to the student.
The anti-box gateNo single grade, test score or club may ever produce a direction. A suggestion exists only when independent evidence agrees — and the database refuses it otherwise.
Then it turns facts into next steps: every deadline that decides whether money arrives; what a college actually costs a family at each income level; how to prepare for the FAFSA (and a route for a student with no parent to ask); fields and colleges the evidence points to; and the application, assembled from the record.

Every figure carries its source and the date it was checked. An unknown is shown as unknown, never filled in.

Who sees what

StudentEverything. Owns it, edits it, adds to it, leaves things out.
Parent / guardianDeadlines, money and the shared FAFSA checklist — never the student’s private route, and never the student’s reflections.
CounselorWho on the caseload needs action; students who asked for help; activity lines to vouch for, with the evidence one click away.
Head of schoolThe cohort, and approval of anything that leaves the school.
Employer (later)Counts only. A student is never shown to an employer until the student acts and every adult approval clears.

Rules that hold regardless of the screen

We never store a family’s income; the screen shows all five income bands and the family finds themselves.

We never collect a minor’s home address; distance to a college is measured from the school.

Families are never billed. If a school’s subscription lapses the service pauses; the student’s record is never deleted.

Encouragement is a specific, true number that changes what a student thinks is possible — never an adjective.
